Body Positivity is a program that assists participants to understand body image using a positive, strengths-based approach. Participants will recognise ways of developing a positive body image, identify influences on body image and gain knowledge on how to look after their bodies. This program promotes healthy body images and challenges common misconceptions around health through the use activities, videos, scenarios and group work tools to engage students and assist them in grasping key messages.

Audience: Years 7 and 8 / Years 9 and 10
Sessions: 1 x 90-minute session
Enrollment period: 90 days 


Program focus:
• Challenge negative media messages and stereotypes about bodies
• Identify the role of social media in self-image
• Focus on mental and physical health
• Focus on respect of self and others
• Identify ways of getting help
